Last Thursday, Miss P and I spent a beautiful day together at the Melbourne Royal Botanical Gardens. The garden is her favourite spot to run free amongst the plants and get her hands a little dirty. After some time exploring we headed to the tea rooms for mummy and daughter high tea.
We arrived and sitting right on the Ornamental Lake in the heart of the Botanical Gardens was The Terrace Restaurant. We walked in and were seated with stunning views of the lawns and lake.
We had the most lovely staff member Leanne look after us. She treated Miss like a little princess. She put her apple juice in a china tea cup with ice and brought me the most delicious espresso coffee and a glass of sparking wine…divine!
Next came a delicious selection of treats served on an elegant three tiered stand. Miss went straight for the macaroons and the dainty floral cupcakes and she tried her first ever scone which were the biggest and best I’ve ever had! And did I mention the Chantilly cream and strawberry jam swoon!
I indulged in the ribbon sandwiches with chicken, avocado, rocket & basil and smoked salmon, cucumber, cream cheese & dill YUM! And the goats’ cheese & roma tomato tart was to die for!
Entry to the Royal Botanical Gardens is free of charge. High Tea at The Terrace is offered daily: 11am-1pm or 1pm-3pm. Cost is $55 per person or $60 per person for gluten free. Vegetarian option available.
Miss and I highly recommend the high tea, we had such a fab day. Bookings can be made here
